Alternatives to Bose Soundtouch 300 and Acoustimass 300?

Hi all,

So my girlfriends dad is looking to upgrade his living room sound system and he has always had Bose systems. I know they have a rep for mediocre sound quality for the price, so what are the alternatives?

The reason he is looking at these are because he wants a wireless system he can add to in the future.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I have told him about Sonos but it seems to be priced similarly to the Bose, so I guess the only thing to do is to demo them both and for him to decide which he prefers.
