I'm asking for advice from people who've had some experience with them, what they found good/bad.
And what if those people are not regular posters?
Post a sarcastic comment because you only got 1 reply in 3 days?
Quite a few people who don't get replies after a few days, bump the thread by asking if anyone else has any ideas.
You'll likely get more help by doing that, rather than being sarcastic.
There's no mention of Bluetooth earphones in the OP, just wireless and that you're looking for an alternative to Airpods. Do Airpods use Bluetooth? I don't know, rids57 doesn't know. He, I and possibly quite a few others who post here don't have an iPhone 7 and pay no attention to what Apple releases.
You mentioned nothing about whether you were looking for an alternative that could offer what the Airpod does in the way of other features, sound aside, or whether you just wanted something for just audio and weren't bothered about the other features. You went on about iPhone 6, Airpad and data storage limits, none of which have anything at all do with what wireless earphones work with the iPhone 7. Bluetooth as it turns out. Did we know that? No.
You assumed people knew that the Airpods use Bluetooth and that you did not require an alternative that makes use of the same features, hence Heisenberg's and rids57's posts. What did they get in return? Sarcasm.
Help works both ways. If people want help with something, then help those to understand exactly what it is they are looking for. This section is called Sound City, but it doesn't mean everyone that posts here knows everything to do with audio. People usually like to help if they can, but are perhaps less willing if get some sarcastic remarks because the person asking didn't like the response.
Anyway: Jaybird X2 seem to get on many recommended lists I've seen, but after just looking them up on the jungle site, they have quite a lot of 1* user reviews. Surely too many for them to be a good recommendation.
In fact, just looked up another pair (Denon W150) that appeared on a 'best Bluetooth earphone list', and they too have a lot of 1* reviews on the jungle site.
Which leads me to wonder, either these lists are made up, paid for, or the people compiling them do not use these earphones long enough for something to wrong like they have for the people giving them 1* on the jungle site.
Must admit, I do find it odd that there are quite a few cheap unknown branded ones that get lots of 4 and 5 star reviews but very few 1 and 2 star. Too many non genuine user reviews?
