Alternatives to wordpress?

Morning All,

I've got myself in a bit of a pickle.. really wish I'd read the ocuk host review!

I registered a domain with 123-reg.co.uk about a week ago and when I came to install wordpress, I was informed that I couldnt! Apparently they dont support the wordpress platform..

I emailed them to ask if I could upgrade my account etc etc - but I refuse to pay a bloomin fortune per month for hosting just so I can host a wordpress blog with them..

Are there any alternatives out there?

Or alternatively, does anybody have 123-reg phone number so I can contact them and cancel!?

I have the bog standard shared hosting with them... but even though they said they support php and mysql they dont!

Its ok, as I've found an alternative hosting solution - but now I cant get in touch with them to cancel... pretty parp customer service tbh...

If they support php and mysql you will be able to install wordpress, unless they have specifically disabled it somehow.

I checked before I bought and they said that they supported php and mysql..

Now searching through the knowledge base on their website, it specifically says that they do not support mysql on their shared hosting packages.

I would need to transfer my hosting to another of pipex's sister sites - but it would cost me £5 per month extra... Which is not bad compared to a couple of years ago!

I'll try and contact them and see what the next step is...
