Its not medical advice im after, before anyone says.

Im always tired, I dont work much and have reasonably early nights, but im always yawning :o I know im not the only one but how many people are always tired and what things do you do to give yourself a boost?

I cant imagine having to look after children and having a full time job, some people work for 12 hours a day, some fit more into their day than I do in a week, how do they cope and where do they get their energy from??!

Eating the right foods? Exercising?

I found I had a lot more energy when I started exercising a lot more and eating a lot lot less crap.

Do you do much excersise? If I feel tired before my bedtime I usually go for a walk.

It could be medically related. I was tired and went to my doctor, who advised me on what was wrong. He was right. (Won't go further)

You'll get A LOT of advice here to drink plenty of water and I can definitely recommend it too.

Ummm Morlan, wrong thread?

Why don't you just go to bed, if you feel tired before bedtime?

I have no idea where I get my energy from However I get very out of breath very quickly if running or such. Now I'm not fat or overwight, nor do I smoke or drink..?

What did you have? :p

By keeping to the rules, all I can recommend is to eat properly and get some excerise and see how you get one. :)

I should have said 'well before bedtime'. If I'm feeling dozy at around 8/9pn, I'll get up of my hole and march around the block.

Agreed.
Every now and then (usually winter) I stop running and you can bet I crash out on the settee.
When I'm exercising (even though I may be knackered) I tend to be more awake and find it hard to go to bed.

Probably your diet, I used to feel like that all the time and am fit enough, I cut out dairy and wheat and feel 10 times better. Try it for a week and see how you feel.

Your saying you dont do much work and go to bed early..... you will find that most people who are more active.... ie are busy at work and home are less tired, if you sit on your arse all day doing sack all then your mind and body sort of start to hibernate, stay active, keep your mind busy etc etc then you will tend to be more energetic.

Take me for example.... in the week when I'm working and doing DIY to my new house etc I dont feel tired at all.... but when the weekend comes and I have a nice lie in and nice slow paced days I feel like crap and end up feeling more tired when I have had 3-4 hours more sleep.

Also sounds like you need to get off your ass a little as from just reading what and how you typed in your post you gave me the impression of being very lazy (I may be completely wrong though and dont take that personally... not having a dig) try doing some exercise, go for a short run or walk each day, go swimming if you have local facilities.... anything.

I would see a Doctor first. Get checked out as Diabetes is a factor with some people who complain of tiredness. Do you find that you drink a lot during the day etc? (Not alcohol).

Yeah was going to mention this but forgot.... also theres a chance you may be anaemic (lack of iron in the blood stream) this causes bad tiredness.

Get yourself tested, one blood test would tell everything.

/doctor walks in :p

anaemia is quite rare for guys, regardless, if you are eating well and is active the doctor will probably suggest a blood test which would reveal any potential problems. Diabetes will make you tired and consequently makes you appear to be thirsty.

Anyway, don't listen to me. :)

A trip to your local GP would be a wise choice. :)
