Am i about to get the RROD?

Whenever i go on my Xbox now and play a game or watch a DVD i'm getting blacks dots abit like the matrix but black appearing on my screen. Is this common when people get the RROD?

Any help would be grateful on how to cure it or what i can do. Thanks

How long have you had it?

When I got the RROD on 2 of my 360's, I didn't get any warning it was going to happen, it just happened. Once when watching a movie and once when I was playing Halo 3.

Just got the code E 74. Unplugged all cables and turned it back on and seems to be working, just getting the black dots still

Over a year old + E74 = YOU MUST PAY!

E74 only covered for one year, which is just crap as it's basically the same fault as 3RROD.

Take apart, whack in oven. Job done.

No, but there's a good chance it'll fix it.

Remove motherboard, cover all but chips in tin foil, whack in oven, fit x-clamp, typically results in a fixed 360.

I guess you could try various things like the towel trick to force it to RROD if you don't want to open it and remove the motherboard for the oven-0-goodness.
