I am currently with Bulldog on their 8mb unlimited package (get around a 6.5mb connection from what I gather) and from various decent servers, I usually download at approx 790 kb/s at full tilt!

Now the only reason I think I might be "traffic shaped" is because I rarely get much above 40-50 kb/s on a torrent during the day or early evening wheras overnight it must jump up significantly as most torrents are finished in the morning?!?! (I use uTorrent btw)

Is it possible that Bulldog shape the traffic during the day and in the evenings, but only for using torrents??

Thanks for any feedback....

its probably bulldog throttling your connection at peak times, bt does it to me and its extremely annoying :/

Is it possible for them to throttle torrents only though?? Like I say, just downloading from a decent server I still get my max connection speeds!!

yes it is possiable to throttle just torrents its called traffic shaping, they only slow down the traffic they want to p2p, torrents etc. That's why if you have encryption on they wont (but some times they can) filter the traffic.
