Am I bottlenecking my system?

What are you using to check the fps in WoW? If it's the in-game mouse-over, that doesn't show anything over 60fps (apart from the odd glitch onto 61fps) iirc anyway. You should take a look at your fps in fraps or similar to get a better idea.

Also, what and how many add ons are you running? Some add ons will really waste your ram and slow down the game.

V-Sync would lock the FPS to 60~
Does WOW have the option to disable the V-Sync?

You need to do some homework for yourself fella. Like i said before google Phenom core unlocking.

If i say that the 555 can take 1.6V and you try it and fry your CPU you'll go ape! If i recall i think 1.55V is the max safe people agree on but you should really look into it yourself before you make any changes.

There is a good chance the asus auto tune has already altered the voltages in the bios. I would reset the CMOS to default. If the cores didnt unlock at stock voltages you can gradually increase the vcore upto 1.5V and retry unlocking the cores as you go.

There is no guarantee that you can even unlock the extra cores so dont get obsessed with it. Just cos I got lucky with mine doesnt mean you will get the same result. Good luck

Well I originally did unlock the cores and all cores were showing their speeds which was fine but my pc would just randomly lock up.

At present on the 2 core setting I am running at 3.8ghz @ 1.5v but I appreciate your response however was hoping someone on here with a similar setup would be able to advise :(

If this helps CPU-Z says the codename for my CPU is Callisto MAX TDP 80W, also I am supposed to be running in dual ddr3 mode but says single channel???

Also I am sure it used to say the codename for my CPU was Deneb strange has it changed because I overclocked it? According to anandtech on standard settings voltage should be around 1.39v.

Ok so I unlocked the cores put the voltage on 1.5v overclocked again got 3.8ghz lets see how this goes oh and by the way the Asus software couldn't pick up on the new bios that got released so I manually got it from Asus and then upgraded hope it all works!

Right just started up WoW and the ingame fps reading is still not showing a constant 60fps it varys between 40-60 so with all cores unlocked so thats 4 cores all at 3.8ghz each still no good. Damn makes me laugh though.

Like i said before WOW is Intel biased!

That shows the 555 vs the 955. By unlocking all cores this is essentially what your cpu becomes. If you've overclocked it to 3.8 it's more like a 980.

Notice the different in FPS on the games? Older games don't really benefit from the extra cores. Blackops, battlefield series games, shogun 2 and titles to come will want the quadcores. So it's worth tinkering to get those cores stable.

How have you overclocked the rig? Manually through the bios or software in windows?

have you played any other games with the CPU both unlocked and OCed?
does it show an increase in performance?

I overclocked it via Windows os, using Asus tune software 1.5v all cores unlocked @ 3.8ghz seems stable so far *touch wood*

FarCry 2 all settings on max seems flawless and fast fps.
