Hi

Just got this yesterday and though its great, I have a little trouble knowing whether I'm paying for my internet usage or connecting over O2.

Does anyone know how to tell this?
I've setup my wifi connection to connect to my home wireless network, with a pre-shared key (WPA). And it connects to the network fine. But then I couldnt access the internet via internet explorer for about 20 mins. Telling me I need to sort out my network connection through the connection manager.
This didnt seem like it was necessary, nor did I have any settings that were relevant to input on there. So I left it.
But now I can connect to the internet using IE on the phone. But my issue is, how do I know if I'm running up an extreme bill using my operaters internet service or just using my wireless connection???

Thanks for any help

Also, I just noticed that I am able to load pages very quickly.
For instance yahoo enternainment pages and myspace load in a couple of seconds....

From my experience with GPRS over any mobile network, its never been this quick with so many images on the same page...making me think that it IS my wifi connection loading the pages.

I checked my "connections" in the connections tab in settings. From here I can't see any connections enabled, where previously I had O2 active which Ihad removed....Would this mean that only the wifi network can connect now...

I just dont want to be caught for £100 on data charges at the end of the month...

I guess one way to check would be to move out of range of my network and see if i can still connect to the internet...

Well im not sure on my p1i i went to the settings of the internet and completely removed the o2mobileweb from it so that I had no chance of connecting and set the priority for wireless to 1.

If it's like my XDA miniS & Vario II then when you connect to the internet it tells you that its is connecting using GPRS / 3G in a dialogue box . The signal meter then changes to a little box with a G or 3G in it.
