Hi folks...

I finished work to day (I'm a near enough full time Releif Nursery Nurse at a nursery in Rugeley and Stafford, Staffs) and I get a text messege just as I am about to leave with one of the parents (Who I am good friends with) and I say to her, I will be right back and I nip into the staff room to read this text that my dad has sent me... It read:-

"I can get Sam in here full time if he wants. Grunt work though. He would have loads of overtime and be better off."

Now my dad is a managing director of the second biggest scrap metal firm in the word, Cronimet.

Now that messege he sent looked like he had sent it to my mum before hand... so I got in and in an instant she said if I had the messege from my dad, and I said yeh, I did.
"What do you think?" she asked.
"We've had this conversation before... I told you, I am NOT giving up my job."
"Why? you will be 200 quid better off for it each month.."

So you get the general gist of the convo we had... and I ended up saying, right, I have a job, that I have trained for and a job I am so happy with at the moment, I seriously would not give it up for anything... why in the hell would I want to trade it for doing a manual labour job? where I would have to get up @ 5:30am every morning and freeze to death outside? when I can go to a job I enjoy, and a job that I have trained for.

Now there is a chink in my armour. My job title at the moment is 'Releif' nursery nurse, so occasionally I get an afternoon or a morning off, or even A day, at the moment between the 2 nurseries, I get 1, 2 afternoons at most off.. which probably accounts for the best part of a weeks wages a month... and according to her and my dad, I am just not doing enough..

Are they right?

If you live with them and pay 'board' that you've all agreed on, they shouldn't interfere, imo. Its your life at the end of the day mate.

On average, I earn just under £600 A month (I know)

And £200 of that goes to them... and £150 goes on my car insurance.

Doesn't matter if you're happy and you're paying your way :)

It's hard to find something you really enjoy doing these days - if you've found something, you should stick with it!

You should stick with it buddy,

There is nothing worse then being in a job you hate, not only that but it becomes apparant in your work, the attitude would shine through and thus most likely ending up with you either quiting or being fired from said job.

Money isnt everything, if your paying all the board on time everymonth it shouldnt really be a problem.

You're an adult, you're happy. They've got every right to offer an opinion, but you've got every right to ignore it, which is exactly what i'd do.
