Hey everyone just got a DS3, 6300 and 1gb Geil 6400 built it all up and have decided to start overclocknig...I followed a guide on the internet and the first attempt is at 2.32Ghz with an Idle temp of about 45oC and a full load of 51oC I have an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro and I was just wondering if there was something wrong as this temp seem a little bit high and means ill probably not able to go any higher...Could someone tell me if maybe I havent fitted the cooler correctly or if this is just normal? :( was hoping to go abit fast tbh...

Thanks Everyone
Simon

How did you figure the 51oc was high? seems perfectly fine for full load, the idle temp does look a little hight though... don't suppose you're in a hot room?

actually yes is was quite hot...had an ultra powerful bulb in and i think that has played a major part...Ok then how high do you think I can go temp wise before stopping?

I wouldn't be comfortable over 60 preferably ... The processor's rated for 65'c max, although if you hit 65 it won't die instantly - it's just probably not good for it :p

Its very interesting...was at 2.2Ghz then I just thought "aww well stick it up just to see what temp it goes to" so I was expecting like 60oC but it was the exact same temp as before, steady at 51oC full load and im on 2.55Ghz lol gonna keep going :p gonna try 375FBS which is 2.62Ghz and keep working at it...just out of curiousity does everything look right on my CPU-Z mem wise and stuff?

If you are stressing both cores 100% then 51c is still good. Most people wont normally do that everyday anyway.

I think rmclock will show throttling
