Had a 939 system for about 3 years now and put the settings how it should be and left it like that.

Now i've got a Jetway MA3-79GDG Combo AM3 motherboard and Phenom II X4 955 cpu but it keeps registering as 800mhz in CPU-Z and im not quite sure why.

Have i done something wrong?

Looked around, and apparantly these chips default without a bios update.

Jetway's site is down though. Where else could i find the bios update?

Google cache brings up this detail on Jetway's site:

Category Ver. Size Content Update Link BIOS DDR2-A05 1MB Bios PXE ROM to update V2.28 support realtek 8111D
2009-6-9 Download Link BIOS DDR3-A05 1MB Bios PXE ROM to update V2.28 support realtek 8111D
2009-6-9 Download Link
The board takes 4gb DDR2 or 4gb DDR3 so what one would i want to get? I'm running DDR2 in it at the moment.

Ok, i managed to find the A03 and A04 updates and A05 actually.

Now i'm running Vista 64 bit on the system so i know there isn't a winflash i can use to do that coz it will throw a hissy fit.

Questions:

Do i update to A03 then A04 then A05? or straight to A05?

How do i update if i want to make a CD?

The files downloaded include:

AFUDOS.EXE
GDG2CA04.BAT
GDG2CA04.ROM - Always thought they were meant to be .bin?
Readme.txt which just explains to turn off a feature before you do anything.

Ok, did it, and everything is running sweet at 3.2Ghz Quad core.

I set my Ram to run at 1066 but it's not.

Any ideas? Here's cpu-z tabs.

Oh ok, it's just i was on the understanding because this board supports:

DDRII 533/667/800/1066 so assumed it would say 1066.

So 533 would say 266.5?

So all i got to do now is tighten the timings up so they are as the SPD says and then i'm good to go to see what this Phenom II X4 955 BE can do :D

Thanks,

Andy
