Hey all just a quick one. I believe the Windows 8 Pro upgrade runs out tomorrow (31st) so yes I've left it a bit last minute.com but as I'm currently using Windows 7 Home Premium can I do the MS £24.99 upgrade?

I am considering installing Windows 8 on my new build (would go onto an SSD) as Win 7 is on my old PC. Would this work as It's an upgrade?

I'm thinking that there is an option to do a clean install on the new PC or would I have to buy the full version?

I've heard it takes some getting used to and most people are making the move to 8. Where do I stand and what would you recommend me do?

Thanks?

You can do the upgrade from windows 7 but then you wouldnt be able to keep windows 7 on the old machine if installing windows 8 on new.

You cant run both if doing an upgrade.

You can do a clean install when purchasing the upgrade, when asked what you would like to keep select "nothing". Then later on rather than installing straight away create media instead.

You can then create a bootable DVD or USB stick which you can use to install Windows 8 on a new PC.

It doesn't alter your old licence, I used my laptop to get the upgrade for my desktop.
