Hello,

Ok I think I have decided with advice from people in the forum to go for the LG L227WT 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black. over the cheapest 22" flat screens at £130. As the monitor is well above my price range, before i save up a little longer for it. Am i really gonna see a difference in quality of the images on this screen. Or to the layman would joe bloggs actually tell if they were side by side with a cheap one but not told which was which. I have an Ati4850

Why on earth would you want to buy a 22" for £217 when the 24" 1920x1200 screen is only £18 more?!

That LG uses a TN panel too, the OcUK 24" will floor it.

Hello again,

Thanks for the tip on the 24" monitor but regardless of size am I going to see a far superior picture with the LG L227WT 22" over the cheapest monitors I can find for £130

No, you won't see a major difference. All these 22" monitors are based around similar TN panels. They compete on features and style rather than image quality, more cash buys you a nicer casing and maybe a better stand but not much else.

I'd echo what jihad said. If picture quality matters to you save up and get the 24" OcUK (or the almost identical Yuraku version).

Exactly. :)

2 inches bigger...

But ok, your choice in the end, just don't make the wrong one and end up regretting it, which I think you will if you pick the 22".

yeah and even that's diagonally. the panel itself would be 1.69" wider and and 1.06" higher. i'm sorry but if your going to complain that a 24" is too big then recommend a 22"..... lol

then of course for that £18, you have a better quality panel (much better) and 30% extra desktop space (1920x1200 for the 24" vs 1680x1050 for the 22"), and also a higher dot pitch (smaller pixels) on the 24" resulting in a sharper screen all adds up to make a 24" a winner. i did own a 22" TN-Film Dell before i bought my 24". i wouldnt recommend a 22" again to anybody for those reasons:)
