i'm really tempted to move over from X99 to Ryzen am insane to even think of doing it?

currently have a 5930K at 4.2ghz 99% of the time im gaming,

but have hit 100% on all cores/threads on some of the games i've played

please give me some advice/sense! :)

What resolution are you playing at on witcher 3, smogsy? You chasing high fps?
i play at 3440x1440 need about 20% extra fps to be able to max it at 60fps+ currently running 1080.

i know the CPU wont help at lot. but new toys an all... + i could change my EATX case to a MATX with a 95W TDP vs 140w..

my current thoughts are
My Current Theory & Idea.
Sell
ASUS PG28AQ
ASUS PG278Q
Acer X34A
X99 setup (maybe)

Buy

1080p High Hz monitor with IPS
Maybe a Ryzen setup

With this i may even have cash to spare + a very high end rig for 1080p gaming.

Do you think this is a good plan, any thoughts/flaws/oversights so on?

Look at it this way, if he goes Ryzen he's looking at 550-600 for a high end CPU/board combo (keeping RAM), he then sells his current board/CPU for 400+ and he's got his upgrade for 150-200 or less (depending how good his current board is.

You're not getting a 5960x for 150-200 or less are you? lol. Now granted he could wait for years until the 5960X (or 6900K) are 150-200 used, but by that point the Ryzen option would be available used too and cheaper yet (not to mention that as it's now 2020 there will be much better options).

I got £200 for my 4930K, £100 for my RAM and £200 for my RIVG (no idea why it held the value so well). I paid £780 for my Ryzen 1700X, GB Gaming 5, 32GB DDR4-3200 combo. That's a total of £280 spent, roughly £600 less than a comparable X99 setup would have cost me.

got this as a Mobo
