My current case is a Lian Li V2000+ with a few mods including a Lian Li window panel (which was pretty hard to find).

I'm thinking of selling it and putting all the components into the much smaller Lian Li A05.

I've checked and everything including my Tuniq Tower will fit. What does everyone think? Am I mad for thinking this?

If it all fits and you want something smaller, then do it.

I wouldn't personally try it, but then again, my v2k will fit my dual PA120.3's, the A05 most certainly wouldn't even fit one =|

When I first bought the V2000 I had planned to eventually go water cooled, but it never happened and I don't think it ever will. And I've only got 2 Hard Drives in there so there's lots of wasted room.

I could probably sell it, buy a A05 and still have money left over. Maybe :P

Unless the size of it is a real problem then I'd probably keep it. It's far better to have the option to upgrade and expand the system than finding yourself confined by a smaller case and having to re buy a bigger case. Who knows what size of heatsinks and cooling options we might be seeing for the new CPUs. Besides...as men, tech should be the focal point of any room. :D

I've got the A06 which is largely similar (difference being that mine has two 80mm fans on the back, the A05 has a single 120mm) and I find mine gets far too hot, specifically my hard-drives and my graphics card. Don't have any overheating issues (yet), but the case itself still gets extremely hot to the touch, and my hard-drives are always at least 46 degrees, often 49-50.

I had a bigger Antec P160 before it which was far, far cooler than this one. Personally I'd suggest sticking with what you've got.
