Hey guys my new rig is an i5 4670k @ 4.6ghz with 16gb ram and a gtx 780 behind it and all I do is game at 1080p (single monitor). According to my research if I was to have an i7 4770k it wouldn't benefit me much as I don't plan on moving from 1080p any time soon. Is this correct?

Thanks.

You bought that to play at 1080p? Crikey.

I think the only thing your missing out on is gaming at 1440p or similar. It's really quite pretty :-D

Your system is more than capable with a single gpu at that res. There are very few games that benefit from an i7, even then they only show decent gains with multi gpu's in xfire/sli.

it takes a 800 pound single gpu to get 60 fps constant in every game at 1080 currently. so he isn't over powered he can just play comfortably.

Well said but to get back to the orignal question having a 4770K would see no increase in gaming performance.
