Am I missing something? 3DM06 on 8800GTX

I just scored 11719, thats using vista ultimate 32, 158.43, C2D cpu at 3.6ghz, memory at 800mhz 4-4-4-12 and my 8800gtx at 620/1960.

I was using 3dm 1.05 or whatever, just downloading 1.1 now.

Just been having a poke around and I'm being beaten by 640mb GTS'

I know 3DM is a synthetic benchmark and yes my games run ok but there is a point to the benchmark and I believe this is it, pointing out where you might be missing something.

Is this a vista thing? I've never gotten on with 3dm 06 anyway but it'd be nice to know where the 1k+ points have gone that other 8800gtx users seems to be getting.

Its my opinion I am on the edge with this cpu and watercooling, 3.7/3.8 might be a vague possibility but its not a good clocker.

vista does reduce 3dmarks i think, but by about 50 points or somthing small. (so i thaught)

btw just compairson i got 11806 - E6600 @ 3.347ghz, HD 2900 XT @ 750/1800 (which is no where neer its full potential)

but your cpu is clocked a lot higher etc so i should have thaught youd break 12k easy hmm

I lost 600 points with a GTX from XP to Vista with all the same settings and clocks.

Yes vista seems give about a 400 to 600 drop compared to XP in 3dmark06..
