Am i missing something with the 9800GX2?

You won't win any friends with those words.

50 on the clock and memory will make little difference. I expect at least £100 ontop of the current 280 prices. Idiot I think not !!

don't get me wrong, i'm not saying he's an idiot. Actually he did made a good choice to buy a 280 when it just launched. But ppl who are going to buy the 280 now, they would be truely idiots!:)

As far as I know, the 55nm version has the same price as the 'old' 65nm version because I've already got a quote from my HK partner. But I can't confirm the exact clocks of it because of the NDA thing. When the 55nm version launched, the 65nm would be out of the market. All residual stocks would have a huge price-cut in order to clear out. That's why OcUK are dropping 280's prices every week. It would carry on until the stock level reach the rock bottom.

By the way, I'm here speaking the truths and help ppl I don't know. I don't really care making friends or not. And I don't think I'm rude. Good luck, mate!

Pls excuse me, forget to metion that 55nm version of GTX280 is targeting to beat HD4870X2 and regain the title. Because nVidia can not build '280GX2' due to the die size matter, at least they can't do it this year. So even the 55nm version couldn't grab the crown back, you could expect a fairly good improvement. I would say something like G80 to G92. They would be cooler too, don't forget.

Yeah let's keep waiting for the next big thing eh?

Those poor 'idiots' can now save around £200 from the launch price, how I feel for them.

A 280 for £244- delivered is a flippin' bargain.

Summer holiday is almost over. If they could wait more than 2 months, they should really wait for the 'next big thing'. I'd say paying 350 quids for a 280 in June is a wiser choice than paying 244 quids for it in August(now). At least they have enjoyed it throughout the whole summer. that truely worths the extra 100 quids cos gamers at this level should really care the enjoyment more.
