Am I nuts to consider this?

I Love the S2000, i really do. it is the only thing i will consider after my ep3.

There is a lot of metal out there, really only considering an S2k?

I'd never consider an S2K. After having a Teg as a daily drive I very much doubt I'd enjoy the drive of one and the more cramped (naturally) and plush cabin.

Want a CSL, but it's a lot of money for just a super M3, even though they don't seem to depreciate.

*Goes off to research loans* :D

Theres only one Honda to try at that money, although in reality you probably want another £10k.

NSX

:D:cool::D

I remember fleeting with the possibility before getting a DC2 and considering it as investment.

Wish I had pursued the idea as 2.5yrs ago there were more available, now they are as rare as hens teeth and have gone up £5k-£10k!!!

:(

Aha, Si's car from Hendyperformance. Spoken to him a few times ordering parts. Looks like a beast of a car

well, that or a DC5 but they are getting older now and ultimately, they will be similar to run & insure.

its the rwd that is attracting me the most really.

a 350z could be on the cards also given that its half the price of an S2K to insure. but doesnt have the urgency of an S2K.

back on topic.

Si. Gibbos list. you should choose one of those.

i've always been under the impression superchargers are great for low end grunt but run out of puff later on.

There are many types of supercharger!

Typical VTEC ones like Vortech or Rotrex are 'centrifugal compressors' and as such they operate best at higher rpm. Low end grunt are the positive displacement and Rootes units.

Peak torque on a SC S2000 is around 9000rpm.

Ad. S2000 is a DC2 with less compromises other than rear seats. A lot faster too

Care to share some of the horror stories or issues with them!

Off the top of my head nmjags is run by some guy who ran another Jag dealer, would sell dodgy cars, not do warranty work as legally required, screw people out of money. Had to close that Jag dealer and has now opened nmjags as his new outfit doing exactly the same?

Basically never buy a car from nmjags or similar, I'm sure someone on here posted a link to a thread on another forum with loads of horror stories.

That makes more sense :)

Seriously? Other than being a dyno fairy what good is gained from having peak torque so high? :)

It looks hideous and for the money i'm sure you can get something just as fun but better looking and more convenient.

It's a supercharger that boost increases with speed. As engine revs go up so does the boost. It's even more vtec than a vtec, SC are certainly not for just low down

Unless the engine revs well past 9k making peak torque at the high end of the rev range is pointless regardless of how you drive! you want your torque graph to be as flat as possible.

You dont want that much torque at 3k in a light RWD car, much like its just as useless on a traction limited FWD.

Making it flat would just be limiting high end power in these applications not adding more low down!
