Am I nuts to consider this?

Unless the engine revs well past 9k making peak torque at the high end of the rev range is pointless regardless of how you drive! you want your torque graph to be as flat as possible.

It is flat. It just has a gradient. Better than a spikey curve like a diesel.

I Love the S2000, i really do. it is the only thing i will consider after my ep3.

After a brief passenger ride in your FN2 si, I must admit. It didn't feel as urgent as I anticipated.

Tbh m8 I was being a little cautious, only took it to about 7250rpm and we were going up a hill :D

Thanks for the advice all, will def consider my options

I must be really weird, I quite like it :D (or can at least appreciate what he's done to it!!)

No way in ****ing hell you could sell it like that though, unless you meet a fellow nutter :D

oh, i know mate. I have driven Andrew Moores stock FN2 up there and needless to say, even as a passenger yours is clearly a different league.

I guess, i was expecting maybe more? Being a regular passenger in the car with a certain yellow 911 driver must have ruined my perception of speed ;)

yellow S2000s are really nice when done right. for me, a yellow facelift with some black RPF1s would be superb. but in stock guise.

If i owned an S2000 with those performance stats, I would want it to look as stock/oem as possible :p

have you considered buying an unmolested example and ploughing a few £k into it?

Yes m8, been there done that. I'd prefer someone else to do it now and for me to save ££££ doing it myself ;)

Believe me Rich, once you've pee'd money away modifying enough cars you want someone else to take the lead :D

And PS, Gibbo's car is brutal on acceleration!!! You def feel RWD moreso than FWD imho (my Supercharged Black S2000 was fun in this regard ;))

honestly then mate, based on this, i would start looking at Caymans and at least get the prospect out of the way.

be it positive or negative, at least you have tried something that is a true step up from an S2000

I drove my dads boxter S and was honestly unimpressed. it lacked the feedback i get from my car and that concerned me. everything i have read about caymans is positive and it sounds like a car that suits my personal driving style.

from what i understand, we have a similar craving for high revving pointable cars and the cayman seems to fit the bill. certainly worth going to try one out.

gibbos mustang shout is well justified but if you want something that is a real weapon, then you really are looking at CSL money. after seeing them blat around donington and destroy pretty much everything else, i would say its certainly worth the consideration.
