I love driving games and have been using a microsoft sidewinder force feed back
its about 8 years old now but still working and not a scratch on it.
Xmass is coming and I am looking to replace my sidewinder now the set I am looking at is the Logitech G25 Racing Wheel £153 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GC-016-LG&groupid=702&catid=288&subcat=353&name=Logitech%20G25%20Racing%20Wheel%20(963416-0120)
is this going overboard does any one have 1 of these, I think in a way I am trying to Justify spending that much money on a single device.
please some just tell me to buy it.

cheers

I replaced my (working, only about 5 years old as well) MS FF wheel with a Logitech G25, it's expensive but the quality is in a different league to the MS wheel. At first it was weird to get used to the 900 degree bit, but once I did it feels so much better than the MS wheel.

Is it sims you play btw? if so may I reccomend iRacing, expensive but oh so awesome :D :p

yer thats what I was thinking, but my Daughter loves driving games, so I would give her the sidewinder to use, also she can get to learn how to use a clutch
on games like colin Mcray 5, as well as a gear shift.
and its a well made kit, yep I have made my mind up I will order it 2 moz and go from a 19inch monitor to a 22inch.
thanks SKILL iRacing I dont think I have come accross that one I will have a look.

cheers

It's a very nice wheel, but I couldn't justify the price. I got a logitech DFP for about £60 and i'm not at all disappointed. It's almost as good as the G25 in most departments, but suffers from lack of clutch, H shifter and dual motor feedback. Not at all bad if you're using it casually. If you're super into your driving games though, the wheel of the moment is the G25.

One of my friends has one, it is an awesomely nice piece of kit that makes any other wheel (that I've used, which is a limited range) feel like very cheap toys.

Do it! Have you ever played LFS? thats brilliant for a g25! It bypasses the software and takes the input directly so you can assign all the controls yourself.

I went from an MSFF to the G25 a couple of weeks ago. It's going to take a while to get used to and although the FF is stronger it's not better in my short term experience. Quality is definitely higher overall, but not the revelation I expected from my previous wheel.

I have had a look at so many reviews and posts and the only complaint is the price is high, which I dont mind as it seems the build quaility is so good as the old saying goes you get what you pay for, so i'm placing my order tomorrow.
cheers all

I'm also considering getting a wheel for Christmas.

Can anyone tell me which racing games are considered to be the best these days? I'm a bit out of the loop. I'm more into arcade racing than full-blown simulations, but I did enjoy Gran Turismo back in the day. :)

I have a G25, its a great wheel, takes abit of getting used to, dont use my gearstick much now though as I use the paddle shift instead.

not really into racing games, but I've used a mates G25 And it is soo cool :D

More of an arcade style guy than sim racer so a joy pad/buttons are more my style :p

Buy it...went from a saitek r220 to a G25 a couple of weeks ago and there`s a world of difference...you need to practice though because it takes a bit of getting used to.
