Hi guys, Recently moved house and have a tiny ass bedroom, No room for a desk anymore, So only real option is to build a HTPC (Considering keeping my current PC and hiding it at the bottom of the bed)

Only problem is I imagine playing in bed is a whole other experience... Would make watching movies etc easier but I imagine my gaming would suffer...

Is this my only option or am I being stupid here?

Sounds like you are being silly to me.

My pc resides in a room you can't swing a cat in. My lads share a room and their atx sits on the floor and keeps getting kicked.

These days there are plenty of mini-itx builds, wall units/brackets/shelves etc. I am pretty sure you could work something out.

That said, I have had two pc's, full atx in an LC13 and Micro-atx in HTPC cases within a hifi rack for convenience in the past but these days use small micro atx cases.

I'm in a similar position to you. My partner runs a business from home so the only real office space in the house is used by her and We don't want a pc desk in our bedroom.

I could set something up in our loft/cattery but the cats would annoy me by jumping on my lap/desk and it wouldn't take long for my pc to be full of hair.

So, I built my rig and have it in the front room in the tv cabinet and I control it with a combination of wireless kb/mouse, mobile mouse on the iphone and 360 controller.

For casual use and gaming I can just use the 360 controller and sit on the couch.

For any extended session I just grab a memory foam cushion and sit on the floor using the bottom of the coach as my back rest. I've started to build a folding table but I've decided I don't really need it anymore, even flightsimmimg is possible like this.

If you can get near enough to your tv I see no reason why you can't have some sort of tray for your kb/mouse and game from your bed.

Otherwise is there no way you could make a folding desk or something?

I'm in a similar situation i.e. Small box room so no room for a desk. I therefore game sat in my bed. My screen is wall mounted at the end of my bed and I sit with my back against the headboard, keyboard in my lap and mouse mat on the bed next to me. Really comfortable way to play in my opinion. Just make sure you get one of the solid mouse mats or something solid to put yours on like a place mat or something.

Never had a desk here either sit on my bed, keyboard on the legs and mouse next to me on the bed. Gaming has suffered at all, the bonus is its all on my 40" tv as well.

Hey, Currentlly have a TV bed so is plenty close enough, I imagine a folding table with mousemat etc screwed in would work...

I literally have no room, my bed goes from wall to wal and I have a built in wardrobe at the bottom and not much else...

Hey Guys, thanks for all your help, wasn't sure if it would cause problems but you have assured me it's do-able. being an engineer may have a butcher at making a folding lap table thingy with everything on and screwed down as much as possible....

Thanks for all your help and happy gaming :)

I actually game from my bed by choice sometimes (controller based games only). I have my pc monitor attached to an ergotech freedom arm (fantastic monitor mount btw if any of you are in the market for one) and I swing the monitor round so it is suspended over my bed for casual gaming.
