Am i on the right PCIe Slot?

am i on the right slot, should that say 16x?, or does it not make a difference?

depends on your motherboard too. USB 3 and SATA 6 share the same PCI-E lane as the graphics card on some boards, eg Gigabyte. So for instance on mine I use both SATA 6 ports and the first PCIE slot runs at PCI-E 2.0 16x @ 8x 2.0 under GPU clock because its shared with the SATA 6 ports.

Due to the Intel chipset on the board not supporting USB3 or SATA 6 it was a workround/compromise to get these to work as its a P55 board with a Marvell controller. X58 and the new Sandy Bridge stuff do not have this problem as the Intel chips supports USB3 and SATA 6 in most cases and does not need a third party chip for these two.

Just be mindful thats all it might actually be in the right slot.

If you google 16x and 8x PCI-E there are loads of articles saying it does not make a jot of difference to your gaming experience which speed they run at.
