Am i over-reacting??

On BBC three now, there is some weird program about single mums all in one house together...
They have a single dad joining the house. He has been shown driving around country lanes with a 9 and 10 year old in the back of the car WITHOUT seatbelts?!

How can they be putting it out on TV?

I really so find it amazing that any parent would let kid sit un-belted in a car?

No, you're not. The dad is a moron, and so are those clueless bitchy women.

There was smoking last night on Corrie too, Mary Whitehouse would be ****ing bricks through her lovely floral dress if she saw some of these travesties. My stars.

As long as he isnt over the speed limit its totally safe.

You ever used a dodgem car?, full on you are only going maybe 5mph so a headon crash would be maybe 10mph and its not very nice if you get thrown around and bang your self in the dodgem. So think about a 30mph crash, 60mph combined speed and a lot more weight being thrown around by a huge amount of force.

I think you totally missed the point of Fox's post...

So you're saying that if he had a blow out at 70mph on the motorway and hit a barrier that it would be 'totally safe' without seatbelts?

I'd be dead now if I wore a seatbeat back in 1986...

And me if it were not for one in 1989, got a crack on the head and my mate who was driving got thrown accross the cab (flat back tranny) because he was not wearing his belt but his feet stayed where they were stuck in the pedals one of his feet got cut to the bone through his shoe. It was only a 30 or so mph crash but seems 300mph when it happens, back end spun on leaves and small branches on the road and the van went side on into hedge. The whole thing was oddly slow motion, then a whole load of soldiers came running over from the entrance to an army base right accross from where we crashed. They brought us a cuppa and and first aid kits the lot, some huge guys picked the back of the van up and pulled it out of the hedge.

Funny thing after the crash the woman who owned the hedge tried to sue the company my mate worked for due to damage to her hedge. Little problem with her claim, she was supposed to remove scaffold poles from the hedge one of which almost came through the cab and kebabed me and my mate. And also the leaves and branches on the road were from her having the trees and hedge cut, she did not clean them up thus causing the van to slide and crash into her hedge.
