Am i safe to overclock?

Well i haven't done overclocking before but i plan to read up on it and do a bit of it. Just wanted to post my specs here to see what you guys think, such as limitations, etc.

Motherboard: ASUS P5B
CPU: E6600
Memory: 4GB Geil Ultra Low Latency PC2-6400
Graphics: POV 8800GTS 320MB
PSU: OCZ GameXStream 700W
Sound: X-Fi SC
CPU Cooler: Arctic Cooler 7
Case:Lian-Li PC-7+ with scythe kama bay

Now i've read about people having problems overclocking when they have asus motherboards with geil memory together. Am i likely to experience problems with overclocking with this combination?

Any other advice that you could give to a newbie overclocker?

follow the overclockers guide on the forum, best advice i can give is take it steady, run the orthos tests etc to make sure its stable and make sure you monitor the cpu temp when you increase its voltage and make sure the northbridge doesnt get excessivly hot.
