Am I supposed to be able to play something from iPad to Apple TV?

Running the Apple TV app on my iPad I can add something to the ”up next” section from one of my streaming services and then go to the app on the Apple TV and play it…

…I feel like I should be able to just start playing it on the Apple TV straight from the Apple TV app. I’m not talking about going to the streaming services app and playing via airplay.

does this feature exist and I’ve just missed it?

Strange, I would have thought other people would be trying to do this as well…not just me…

Yup, every single person I know does this regardless of device. It’s a mix bag for whether or not they use the phone/iPad or the remote. I just prefer using the remote as well.

When I think about it, most just use the remote rather than phone in my experience. Easier.

Yep, unless I have a long password to type in and then I'll use my phone.
