Well... For the past few months I have TRIED damnit. I really have tried to get excitted about the Wii... I dont know why, I really just cant do it. I was watching the "live" play of the Wii over at gamespot, and I must admit, some of it (like Zelda) looked awesome... but I dont feel the magic from the console.

I admit, I have not played on one, but I find it odd everyone else seemingly is so ready to jump on the Wii the second it's released, and I seemingly couldnt care... I would like to take a moment to mention I am not new to gaming, I have been playing games since the Spectrum... heck back in the days of the Atari 2600... So it is not that I am "all about the graphics" as a few of my friends seem to think it is. I am thinking it is maybe that I never grew up with Nintendo? I was more a Sega person, owning all of their machines, and only borrowing an N64 for a few days off a friend.

Some titles as I believe I have said, like Zelda, and Mario interest me, but for some reason I dont see the whole Wii Remote as that major? I admit that seeing them use it for Madden NFL looked rather unique, such as putting your hands up to catch the ball, but for some reason, I am not interested as much as virtually everyone else it seems.

Up until maybe 3 months ago, I have to admit I was very much a MS fan, not really liking the PS3 at all... but strangely now I dont mind the PS3. I do without a doubt prefer the look of the lineup on the 360, but the PS3 does look a smart system... and I dont mind it's looks either (its not pretty, but not the worst thing ever either). Please don't take this as a "lets bash the Wii" thread... I am just curious to know if anyone else felt like that... or if anyone could show me videos or something that would make the console appeal to me more...

i agree to an extent, but i wasn't that intrested in the DS with all those gimicks. Two screen, microphone, touch screen all seemed a waste of time but in the end Nintendo provde me wrong and i think the DS is great. I'm expecting the Wii to be simular in the long run.

I'd be suprised if you were. Despite the fact that I'm sure you'll get tons of people in here telling you how wrong you are, and listing exactly why you should care about the Wii, it's called having different tastes. You're not particularly interested in what the Wii does, others are. End of, really.

I mean, I'm still yet to get that interested in the 360, and it's been out for months.

I'm the same.

There is a lot of people preordering Wiis. Personally, I'm not interested until I've tried one for myself.

My view right now is that the whole wiimote thing is a bit of a gimmick. I bought a Microsoft motion sensing gamepad some years ago and it wasn't all that it cracked up to be and you still had much more precise control using the pad with the regular controls. So until I've tried it first hand, I'm not really sure what to think.... I'm certainly not going to put down money for something Ive not tested out.

I felt exactly the same with the Wii, especially the menu's (I think they look crap). I am quite interested in the PS3 though I have to say, I own a 360 and doubt I will ever get one but still - I want to see some more of these gameplay graphics
