I just been reading some information about Mac and Windows.. I know I be sticking with mac as I just know how to use it and it works with all my other apple products..

Anyway I came across this info about Metal? Is it something that is built into the OSx as i can't find the application or anything on my iMac

yuppers, not something you will find on your osx install from a consumer perspective.

Yes, think DX(11/12) for windows, its Apples equivalent
