does this seem ok form a differnce between core 0 at 43 at idle and core 1 at 33 as i here from reading other threads with intel cores 5 degrees is about the tolerence does this same tollerence apply to am2 cpus, any one else have a 600 0 cpu with the same differences or please tell me what difefrence your cores are

In the past on my old 754 athlon 64s i removed the IHS and it did shave off around 7 degrees is it worth it on the am2s ? or is lapping a better solution or anything else to help save degrees ideas much appreciated.

measured with coretemp 0.95.4 as seen in thumbnail

My AMD 5000, has a difference of about 16degc, and it seems to be working fine. I have run prime for about 5 hours, and no crash. Difference on my 6000, is only about 4 deg c though. Out of curiosity why have you got your multiplier at 14. I thought the AMD 6000's, stock speed was supposed to be 3Ghz?

The heatsink may not be completely flat and has better contact with one core than the other. You might want to try reseating it.

yeh the 3ghz is stock yeh having a few issues with water cooling at the moment (reserator 2 :( see my other thread) , what u guys mean when you say reseat it , take it out change the thermal material generally tidy up. does lapping or ihs removal make any difference on am2 ? never tried it on am2? cause my chips the oem so only got a years warantee too void anyway

grr.. shame made a nice difference on my old a64 754 socket, any chance lapping my 600 would shave off many degrees?

It depends how uneven the IHS is currently but from what I gather, most people only get a 5 to 10 (if you're lucky) degree reduction in temps if that.

hmm possibly worth a look at trying to make it as cool as possible to battle out tryin to get the reserators temps sstable enough to run at stock untill i can afford more water cooling kit.

thanks for the help
