am2/939 question

i have an amd 4800 x2 processor

i have noticed that there are 939 and am2 motherboards
do both of these boards support my processor?

As you appear to be running DDR2 RAM, I assume you have an AM2 CPU.

These are not compatible with socket 939 boards. Different number of pins on the CPU you see.

wanted to upgrade the mobo so i have the option of sli etc

Wait for AM2+ then, Nvidia's 780a chipset.

for the love off god don't buy anything yet AM2+ plus if your going to spend money to get an SLI MB but saying that crossfire is worth looking at.
