Ok i have my self a 5200 Dual Core AM2, and just seen the "AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core FX62 2.80GHz (Socket AM2) " on overclockers. and was just wondering what the diffrence between these chips are ?

Cheers guys and girls

The FX62 has a higher clock speed and a higher multi than the 5200+ , but the 5200+ can be easily overclocked to the FX speeds.

clcok for clock, a C2D outperforms an AMD X2 at the same clockspeed. the C2Ds overclock further. This results in more performance for less money.

i can hit 2.99 on my 5200, don't think i'll spend the extra money yet, might sell my two 7900 gs and buy my self a 8800, not sure on the spec yet, but might as well have a pre water cooled one.

any idears ?? whats the top spec's like on my wallet ??

Thanks

but still not as good as C2D, waste of cash IMO

not if your already using AM2, then its a nice simple upgrade without the farce of getting a new motherboard and such, for slightly less performance, also core 2 duo isn't that much faster clock for clock, like people saying 'my E6300 can beat FX62', but the conroe has to be overclocked, but un-overclocked theres not much in it price vs. price its pretty even
