am2+ boards that surport be 955 without the need for bios update

If youre gonna shell out the extra money for an AM3 processor, buy an AM3 mobo to take advantage of DDR3. Or jus stick with the Phenom II 940 is youre gonna stick with AM2

940 processor is about the same price as 955 memory does not make that much diferance or does it ?
 
It's OK, cheap DDR3 boards are turning up now :

is really very fully featured. Plus because its so new, it will support the 955 out of the box.

Combine with this :

and the 955 and you have a great value powerhouse.

Of course 940 + DDR2 mobo + DDR2 memory is nearly as good and a little cheaper but the difference is very little, so I'd be inclined to go DDR3 now.
 
Meh this is where my problem lies. I would want a 790FX mobo or at the very least a 790GX mobo and they cost around the £130 mark right now.
