I'm tempted to try a 955BE on an AM2+ mobo as I already have 8gb DDR2. However my DDR2 is PC6400.

How does memory speed affect your overclock on an AM2+ chipset? In the old s939 nForce days I could run the memory completely independant of the CPU speed. Is this still the case on AMD platforms?

Also is an AM2+ mobo likely to overclock any worse than anb AM3?

Very good point I had forgotten. In the AMD world does it make much difference in performance by clocking the multi? In the old Intel days you gained more by upping the FSB.

you will gain by upping the FSB, however you can clock the NB and HT independantly from the CPU & FSB so you don't have to increase FSB to gain the same performance
