I was planning on building a new rig soon either 4200 X2 or an Opti 170 but people keep mentioning AM2 migration by AMD. What's it all about. Anyone got any artiles I can read?

Yeah... If I had the money to order today i'd be plumping for an Opteron 170, I found one for £285 inc vat! & A DFI NF4 Ultra-D & 2GB Ram etc.
