AM2+ to AM3+, a significant upgrade?

I'm currently using an older GA-MA790X-UD3P (AM2+) motherboard with my Phenom II 955BE as well as 4GB of OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500. My graphics card is a 7850.

I was wondering if it's worthwhile upgrading to an AM3+ motherboard (probably a GA-970A-UD3) and DDR3 memory. Would I see any noticeable improvement if I did?

Any help appreciated :)

No benefit to doing that whatsoever :)

DDR2 to DDR3 is a very small performance upgrade. You're much better saving your money for when you can do a CPU/mobo/ram upgrade in one go.
