I've recently bought the AM200 modem and WRT54GL router to replace a belkin unit I was having issues with, but now I'm having problems with the 2 new devices.

Basically, when connected, the router can see the internet and can also ping and trace route to various random websites. My computer, can't do either of these and just gets stuck at the router.

I've setup the AM200 in half-bridge mode and the router gets my external IP address, but thats as far as traffic seems to be able to go. The config that I've set them as is below:

AM200:
IP: 192.168.2.1
MASK: 255.255.255.0
Half Bridge: On
NAT: Disabled

WRT54GL:
IP: DHCP (receives external one)
Internal IP: 192.168.1.1
DHCP: On for 192.168.100-150

The only thing I've managed to get my computer doing is performing IP address lookups from the router, but thats as far as it goes. Ideas anyone ?

It was just getting to 192.168.1.1 and then stopping, but I've had a breakthrough.

After bricking my router trying to put on DD-WRT and then unbricking it with the firmware from linksys, its all working again. This is in the faked half-bridge mode, so I'm going to try and get it into half-bridged mode properly and see what happens.

EDIT: Yup fully working now. Very wierd as I've already upgraded the firmware to the latest version and factory re-set both devices at least 2 times now. Not going to complain though, everything seems to be working!

Now to figure out how to upgrade to DD-WRT without killing it again :)

Flash the WRT54GL using the *mini* version first, then reflash it with the release you want to use.
You cannot flash from the Linksys original firmware straight to a fully blown DD-WRT release, you *must* flash the mini code across first otherwise you will brick it.
