AM3 / AM2+ Benchmarks

Just want an idea of performance differences between.

1. putting a AM3 x3 2.8 in a AM2+ 790fx mobo that supports it using ddr2 800mhz ram

2. putting a AM3 in a AM3 motherboard 790fx chipset with ddr3 1600 mhz ram

has anyone upgraded the above ?

If it is any help. Go look at the reviews on the new AMD processors. One person said that he couldn't see any difference between his new AM3 and his i7 system.

i7 systems are only DDR3, so

2. putting a AM3 in a AM3 motherboard 790fx chipset with ddr3 1600 mhz ram

is comparable to an i7 system.
