im looking to add a aftermarket cooler to my amd athlon ii x3 450 to try a small overclock

i would like one that has proper east/west fan orientation to blow air towards the back of the case

my case is a xigmatek asgard so not the largest of cases

budget is ~£30-35

unless it's been revised i believe this heatsink uses the am3 backplate so the fan faces downwards towards the graphics card

is this even a problem? it just seems illogical but i am no expert (this is my first build)

Just installed one on my mums pc which is AMD and this cooler uses a back plate, The original retention mechanism failed.

So can be mounted with the fan drawing air from the from and expel at the rear, I think the rev 2 does this on this cooler.

my elite 342 could fit the gelid tranquillo, and it physically doesnt have enough room for a rear 120mm fan (it would clash with the side panel or the motherboard back panel. the xigmatec asgard a rear 120mm fan, which means there is more room between the side panel and the motherboard, so it will definitely fit height wise (unless there is some sound insulation or something stupid on the side panel)
