AM3 fan orientation

I'm wanting to get a decent budget fan for my new Am3 setup as the stock one is driving me mad already and Ive only had it a day, I was thinking along the lines of an artic 7 but Ive noticed that the orientation of them seems to be that they face upwards in the case towards the psu:confused:. With my old intel build the fan faced into the rear fan on my case which was perfect. Are there any AM3 BUDGET coolers that would face towards the rear of my case or do they all face upwards?

Thanks

Hey andythelandy, I think for the AM3 cooler to push air from front to back you will need a cooler that has a custom mounted back plate (does mean removing the motherboard though) instead of the using the AM3 retaining bracket. I have ordered the cooler master hyper 212 plus as a result of that whining noise in my stock cooler, its worth checking out!

Ok thanks, I have done abit of research and ive found the fan below the one you linked (The Cooler Master Hyper TX3) looks like its able to mount how I want without the need of a bracket, well thats what I'm hoping anyway.

Just to claify do you think (Right picture in the first row of pictures linked above) is what i'm looking for?

Thanks for your help:)

Hello,

Had a look at the orientation of the TX3, that picture showed the lever in the right place to mount it so fan pushed air from front to back. SO I think this will work for your AM3 setup, without removing the mobo!
