Nice spot on the cheaper RAM :)

It will be used for games, apps, photo's, encoding, emulation the full works.

I upgrade about once every 3-4 years so usually need a new mobi with each upgrade so just need one that is good for what I buy now.

I like the discreet xfire option on this board to save me some £'s when in use although I might have to look at a better board to allow future xfire option

perhaps this....http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-351-GI&groupid=701&catid=1903&subcat=2046

What do you mean by this? Crossfiring your 5850 with the onboard 4250 will probably do more harm than good. I believe it's really designed for giving very low end (HD5450) a tiny performance boost.

OcUK says the gigabyte board has SATA 6 ports but I can find any reference to this on the gigabyte website. I don't believe the SB710 supports SATA 6?

I would pay a little extra for a full ATX board (so you can add another graphics card ) and USB 3.0/SATA 6 ports.

This is out of stock at the moment but it's only £5 more than the gigabyte and offers all of the above.

If you flash the BIOS it can support AM3+

I'd reconsider on the RAM if you are using the Gelid tranquillo CPU fan, I was planning to get the Vengeance RAM but was kindly advised not because of the massive size of the heat spreaders. Im now using a Crucial Ballistix Sport RAMs and its just about touching the cooler. unless you have a bigger board.

I'd be looking at that psu aswell and upping it to a 600w as that amd cpu is hungry for power, I know I was sitting on a limit with a gtx 460 & a 955be
