am3+ matx exist?

well, im building a matx / atx rig and already have a case (fractal design define mini) i want to go amd cpu again (even though i know intel is a better option)

i would like support for piledriver? trinity? or whatever the next revision of amd cpu / apu is and i would ideally like 16x x16 lanes, but im sure only 8x 8x is avaliable and an apu would eat some of those right?

Why would you go AMD when you Intel are streaks ahead?

well, im primarily interested in the new trinity apu for a htpc and medium gaming with a passive cooled ati gpu in hybrid. i can build a relatively low cost system this way and still get the efficiency and quietness too.

but yes a 1155 matx intel on SB would also be nice i have not ruled it out. just seems a bit obvious and well.. boring tbh

Looking at wiki, it seems like Piledriver will use a revised FM1 socket (called FM2), so I wouldn't think the desktop Trinity parts would work in the AM3+ CPU socket. Since even the current top-end APUs don't work in it (as Llano uses FM1).

Looking at this, it seems unlikely that a current FM1 board would support one of the new FM2 APUs.

Your first points are sound statement and i agree up untill you say that you have not ruled out SB. "Boring you say" and a bit obvious but there lies the contradiction. Boring Sb is far from and its far superior, at a cost.
