Thinking of picking up one of these for a 8320 build for running Linux VM's for learning purposes.

Whats the difference between the 970 chipset and the 760G chipset?

I was also looking for the chipest 16Gb ram I could find. Would two of these modules do the job?

And more importantly work in this mobo?

900 series gives support for IOMMU hardware access for Linux VM's 700 series does not IMO.

760G has an IGP on board, equal to a Radeon 3000 series. 900 series does not.

For the cost of a cheap graphics card, I would go for a 970.

Also 760G may be mATX whereas 970 or 990 is ATX.

Most DDR3 are compatible. You show a 4GB stick though?

The 970A DS3P Gigabyte is a great board for £52

I have built 3 machines and they haven't put a foot wrong

The 970 is a straight forward chipset, Has 6Gb SAS, USB 3.0 and is a bit newer than the 760

I would go the 970 Route just add the card of your choice
