AM3 motherboard advice

Got the -M evo and can recommend it if you not interested in much overclocking however for a mATX it is possiblity one of the best ones i have had and it doesnt do half bad with the extras(hdmi etc). Recommended!

gigabyte are good all round boards. it's only with asus that they're really good but at top end.

although I wouldn't go with the gigabyte that was mentioned above because of the positioning of the 8pin 12v socket

If all i want to do is game and don't really care about overclocking, features etc, would there be much difference between an Asus crosshair III and [the Asus M4A785TD-M Evo]
Hi nitram100,

the first difference I notice is the 785G board is £72 cheaper than the 790FX, that is enough money to buy one of a few good AMD Athlon II/Phenom II processors! . . . i.e for the same money as the Crosshair III Formula you could buy a Asus M4A785TD-M Evo *and* an AMD Phenom II 550 . . .

If your not intending to have a pop at some high end AMD overclocking and you aren't interested in Crossfire then the choice should be obvious!

Hey thanks again for all the info.

Big Wayne, i have already bought a 955 Phenom II, do you still think the 785G would be a good board for that?

Thanks again!
