AM3+ socket question????

hey guys

I am currently building a system for someone but I am a little confused about AM3 and AM3+. Are these the same sockets?
I have been looking for an air cooler for the following
AMD Bulldozer FX-8 Eight Core 8120 Black Edition 3.10Ghz (Socket AM3+) Processor

Can anyone recommend one, for around 20-30 pounds?

Quick question whats the system for?

We would highly reccomend you stay AWAY from Bulldozer chips. If your going to go AMD get Piledriver. Even then they have limited use as the latest i3 chips can beat them in most instances.

AM3+ support the FX range, AM3, do not.

Cooler Wise, here would be somewhere to start. I am working on your £20-30 budget, other would most likely recommend something better:

The system isnt for gaming. Its for a music production. So an 8core cpu would be great.
Compared to the i5 system I speced for 500, the AMD seems like it would be better and cheaper.

What would be a good recommendation for a mild over-clock? (Asrock X-Boost, I might be a bit more adventurous when I have learned more about it

)

I do not want to say "Money no object" but it is not a problem! I am happy to pay more for a better product.

(Also with a degree of future proofing. I currently have an 8150 but My intention is to eventually upgrade my current AM3+ board with the final iteration of AM3+ processor + mild OC when the time comes)
