AM3 -- two bent pins

Hello

I have a Phenom II X4 840 3.2Ghz processor. Just a little while ago I was removing the heatsink to apply new thermal paste but they were completely stuck together and it pulled my processor out of my mobo. It didn't take any force to do it really, I was gently removing the heatsink and the processor came with it.

It goes in fine but I noticed there's 2 pins that have been bent flat somehow. I can't be 100% sure this event is what caused it, for some reason I have a vague memory of seeing these bent pins before but I'd rather be safe than sorry and ask here.

I found a diagram of the AM3 socket and have marked the bent pins in red but I couldn't find a list which tells me the roles of each pin. I can't use my rig right now as I'm going to wait for replacement paste and some part I ordered today.

Any idea what these pins do?

Done the same on my x4 955, stock thermal paste is like glue :(, chip straight out of board, couple of bent pins. Bent them back, working fine to this day :).

+1 to the above. My old phenom came out with the heatsink and bent about a dozen pins. Bent back with no ill effects
