There seems to be a number of people having the same issue, so thought it may be prudent to have a specific thread for it on here.

Hopefully we can get an idea of where the problem may lie.

For me, the issue occurs on an Asus B350 Prime Plus with everything at stock.

System
Asus B350 Prime Plus - 0503 bios
32GB corsair vengeance LPX 2800mhz (dual rank according to cpu-z)
R7 1700 CPU
Nvidia GTX 980ti
several ssd + hdd
Superflower 1200w

I have experienced it running realbench stress test (30 min, 16gb)

Not Prime or anything else to try and cause it, but may give that a quick go out of curiosity.

Occasionally will pass a 30 min realbench stress, but if it passes and fire off another it tends to fail.

I've had this happen on both cinebench and realbench and prime 95.
I can manage a few minutes of each, any sustained load causes the system to lose display. This is not a reset, the system is still running.
This happens at stock and overclocked, I have even gone as far as setting 1.35 volts for a 3.7 overclock.
General tasks are fine, gaming is fine. I can play bf1 at 3.8ghz and 2666 ram but these tests kill it at 3.2 and 2133?
Myself I think its temperature related.

If this does turn out to be an issue with the mobo, it would be eligible for RMA, right? Not saying it is, just preparing for the worst!

what cooler mate?

First attempt 3.8 at 1.3v 2666 ram crash in less than 2 minutes in realbench temp at 70.5
Then on trying to reboot I got an overclock fault. Took ram to 2400, same thing, took CPU to 3.2 same thing.
So now I'm down to 3.2 with 2133 ram. Weird as hell because yesterday I was at 2933 ram and it was perfectly fine now it wont even boot at 2400 :/

Test part 2 running now.

Test 2 failed. Stock settings blender.exe crashed. Temps at 60 degrees
Test 3 failed BSOD nvlddmkm.sys.
Currently on 378.66. The same revision I had on my haswell system and not a single issue. Ever.
Kabylake is starting to look appealing.

Currently updating nvidia drivers and going to run test 4.

Test 4 failed. 60 degrees
Luxmark 64.exe has stopped working
AMD ryzen master has stopped working

I remembered read from a post in other thread somebody had same issue with black screen crash while played games.

He managed to fixed black screen crash by disabled SMT.

Try disable SMT and see what happen.

Thats a fair point. I'm currently on pass 3of4 with memtest, no errors so far and I dont expect any either tbh.
I will try the SMT and retry.
Otherwise I'll be looking at the asus crosshair or going kaby.

Are you running your memory at 2800mhz? what speed does the Ryzen IMC support officially? ignore motherboards they will advertise anything.

I believe official is 2400. Ive tried 2133 all the way to 2666 with the same issue on every setting. I get the same issue on every setting stock and overclocked cpu aswell.

Have you tried underclockng the processor or increasing the core voltage? I know you shouldn't have to but it's a good way to diagnose if your CPU is faulty.

Running stock. i.e. 2133 as set by board - hoping to keep this thread to issues encountered only at stock.

X370 Prime Pro - same black screen crash at stock.

So, two boards, same issue

Tried two sets of memory on B350 with same result - both coarsair bengeance. One a 4 x 8gb set of 2400, the other is the current 2 x 16gb 2800 (not run at 2800)

I don't have the 4 x 8gb set to try again in the x370.

Going to see if can get some crucial delivered....

I have, all the way upto 3.85, same issue with insane amounts of heat!

Currently on pass 4 of 4 on memtest 0 errors. Heat is not an issue mine was crashing at 60 degrees with stock cpu and 2133 ram. Next step is SMT.
Future step will be to overclockers to pick up a 7700 if this continues!
