good afternoon,

I would like help in designing a AM4 micro ATX system. It can have dual pcie gen 4 slot.
But one will do. I am not going to use this as a Windows or Linux desktop but as a firewall that can handle at least
10 gigabits. The card I will be using will be an
Intel x550 t4 or even a x710 t4.
So CPU will have to have a igpu.
RAM will be 16 GB.
SSD 1 TB.

What about a ryzen 5 5600/x and an second hand nvidia gt 710/1030 or arc a310?

Your only going to be using as a display adapters and all the cards are small and require little power in use.

Thanks, but dual pcie m/b in this size format are difficult to find.

Are you planning on using 1 or 2 Intel Nics on the board as the gigabyte board I specced has
Expansion Slots - 1 x PCIe x16 (Gen 4 or 3, CPU dependent)
- 1 x PCIe x16 (x4)
- 1 x PCIe x1

what about using a 10gbe Ethernet switch instead of 2 cards?

They can be had for under £100 for a 6 port switch.

OK, will all this fit together?

1 x Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC R2 (AMD AM4) B550 Micro-ATX Motherboard (SKU: MOT-GIG-06023) = £88.98
AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600 Up to 4.6 GHz 3.7 GHz AMD Wraith Stealth cooler inc Discrete Graphics Card Required
I have a Sapphire 460 2GB pcie gen 2 card
1 x Team Group Vulcan Z T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit
1 x Jonsbo D32 STD Mesh mATX, Mini Case ***
1 x be quiet SYSTEM POWER 11 550W 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply
1 x Crucial E100 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 Solid State Drive

Jonsbo D32 STD Mesh mATX, Mini Case

Compatible Devices Micro-ATX motherboards, up to 365mm graphics cards, CPU heatsinks up to 164mm, 120mm or 240mm air or liquid cooling systems

Max. GPU Length 365 mm

Internal Dimensions
Max. CPU Cooler Height 164 mm
Max. GPU Length 365 mm
Max. PSU Length / Depth 200 mm

Expansion Slots
Expansion slots / PCI slots 4
PCI slot allocation 2x 2

ATX PS2 PSU Clearance:
• When the GPU is installed in the first PCI-E slot of the chassis, the maximum length of the power supply is 150mm, and the recommended length is ≤140mm
• When the GPU is installed in the second PCI-E slot of the chassis, the maximum length of the power supply is 170mm, and the recommended length is ≤160mm
• When the GPU length is ≤288mm, the power supply length is limited to 200mm (not compatible with 16A plugs)

The graphics card will go into the pcie gen3 slot - and Intel x550-T2 into the pcie gen 4 slot ---- of the motherboard.

Will all this fit together?

Yes and with plenty of space for the psu as your 460 is only a dual fan length at a guess.
Both x16 pci-e lots will be x4 but your gpu can only run at x2 so it makes no difference.
You could even put a decent tower cooler in there to keep it quieter.
