AM4 Msi mobo check

Hi I'm after a quick device manager hardware ID and driver cross-check for a couple of drivers. Is anyone using one of these boards atm (or anything else AM4 with usb3.2 gen 2 and/or the ALC1220 audio?)

It doesn't involve much time/effort - you can do an easy export using msinfo32.exe -> components -> go to "File" -> Export which will make you a text file listing the hardware ID codes and which driver file they are using.

All you need to do is delete any IP addresses (it sometimes picks up your network card IP) and everything else is purely hardware etc -no personal info/license codes or anything like that. Let me know and I'll pm a link for a disposable web-based email service you can use to send it anonymously.

Hi,

Just a reminder, USB 3.2 Gen2 is provided by Asmedia chips. Asmedia does not share driver for itscontroller, it is only distributed through Windows.

erm not true - asmedia updates readily available online, and on most standard PCIe card driver discs. You are correct however that the X370, X470, and I think the X570 too all use a customised ASMedia controller. And it is a pig finding something that will work if you're having trouble with glitchy drivers.

Edit seeing as you're apparently from MSI support, how come MSI advertise boards as shipping with all drivers required on the DVD supplied, yet they don't install and MSI instead direct you to a windows store download that also doesn't work? And when you try and raise this with MSI your website blocks any direct communication and redirects people to a borked MSI forum that doesn't load unless you visit the German version but is then no use to non-fluent German speakers?

Oh and one more question, is there a way to get the realtek audio control centre to 1) load properly, and 2) load without the MSI branding? I really don't like it compared to the clean look of the default realtek software and presumably this is just a skin applied over the top. Right now however I'll settle for the audio control centre just installing at all to begin with.
