Hi i currently have a 10 gen cpu + 3060 8 gb build, i wanted to get either the 5800X3D or the 7800X3D.

It would be mostly for CS2 at 1080p and 240 hz (AAA support = +), the goal is to get a steady 250+ fps (1% lows not far).

I have a promotion price for the 5800X3D at 215 euros and a price for the other at 400 euros.

Is it worth for these needs to go am5 or should i go with am4?

Also could i keep my 3060 8 gb (NON TI) with either of these CPU? for example on low game settings. If not i thought a 7900 GRE, 4070 super or 7800 XT.

Pls provide a good motherboard depending on your answer thx
 
There are lots of choices in France, I'd just buy something without the worry of paying taxes.
hello yes thats why i found that B650 on amazon as i saw there could be 20% tax, but will it suit the 7800X3D if its not the B650E-F?
I will try to game with my 3060, if it doesnt work well do you agree with a 7900 GRE, 4070 super or 7800 XT for 1080p CS2?

I doubt a 7800X3D would throttle playing games, even with A620. The B650E-F is usually recommended because it is one of the cheapest motherboards with PCI-E 5.0 graphics.

Please don't get a kolink power supply get something gold rated with a 7 to 10 year warranty.

Don't cheap out on a PSU.

Also take a look at Zotac models of the 4070 as they usually come with a 5 year warranty if registered within 30 days otherwise it's 3 years.
i'm not used to that warranty thing, i found a Zotac 4070 twin edge its 90 cheaper and the warranty is the same (2 to 3 years) at least from amazon, i would go for the super.

That PSU is the one i already got, the estimated wattage is 491 but there is that worrying message about the motherboard's additional 4-pin ATX power connector, is it out of the question to use it with that setup?

Ok I ment Zotac 4070 super but if you only get 3 years then go with what you want.

As for the PSU it's still a rubbish unit with only a 2 year warranty so if you want to risk your new parts then so be it , you've been warned.
no dont want to risk i was just asking, i just learned that even if it works it can reduce components lifespan.
I found a Corsair RM750x 80 PLUS Gold 750 Watts is it ok? Or what else would you suggest?
About Zotac gpu amazon out of stock and i saw some complain about noise so i will spend 100 more for MSI

The rm750x usints are very good although I would try and get a native ATX v.3 as your going with a 4070 super like a

It also says PCIe 5.0 is that the same thing or a lesser version of what you say?

It has 1x PCI-E 5.0 M.2 slot.

The primary PCI-E (graphics) slot is PCI-E 4.0.

To be clear: I was not saying you need PCI-E 5.0 graphics, I was just telling you a reason why the B650E-F is often recommended.
It's a budget board but adequate.

I decided to sell my hole current build for 500 euros i will need a new storage and pc case as well, i really dont care about the look if i can cheap out on this i will.

Prime cheap but will do the job if budget is tight.
TUF gaming mid range out of the 3 a solid choice.
E_F best out the 3 has a few more features so if you dont mind spending a few more euros

M2 drive what size. ? You want pcie4 for fastest speeds.

Case is a personal choice do you want RGB ? Lancool and phanteks are good options

Are these features worth 60 / 90 euros for my needs? If they dont potentially impact performance i will go without.

I had a 1tb nvme wich had plenty of space left

It is hard for us to answer that for you, what features do YOU need/want?

Personally, I'm fine with PCI-E 4.0 everything and 2x M.2 slots, so even a low-end B650 motherboard like Gigabyte B650M-K would be fine for me.
I dont understand the difference, i just want to play 1080p esports fast paced games and potential 1080p AAA thats all, with some background chrome windows.
I found a 149 euros Gigabyte B650M-K wich is not that different priced from a PCI-E 5 PRIME B650-PLUS at 174 euros, or a PCI-E 5 TUF GAMING B650-PLUS at 207 euros.
If PCI-E 5 offers better performance/graphics i will spend few more bucks, the question is: will spending 269 euros on a B650E-F change anything at all performance/graphic wise for 1080p gaming?
The NQ790 is a much better drive than the other two and has significantly higher endurance, which is why it is expensive, but it still uses QLC memory (the P3 Plus does too, the NV2 probably does).

I'd look at the SN580 or SN770.

There are two basic questions with any motherboard for performance:
1. Does it have good enough VRMs to support your CPU with no throttling.
2. Can it run your memory at the speed you want.

If the answer to those questions is: YES, then the price and secondary features of the motherboard is irrelevant.

When gaming, with a B650 motherboard (from low-end to high-end) and a 7800X3D, the difference between them is pretty much: margin of error.

That said, I would personally avoid the very low-end motherboards that don't even have a heatsink on their VRM.

After you have answered the two basic questions, you then look at other features, e.g.

1. PCI-E Generation of graphics slot and M.2 slots.
2. The number of M.2 slots.
3. The number of SATA ports.
4. Number and speed of USB ports (including USB Type-C).
5. The sound codec and number of jacks.
6. Presence of SPDIF (if you want it) and integrated DAC/AMP.
7. Number of PCI-E slots (if you need other cards, like sound card).
8. LAN or WIFI version and speed.
9. USB flashback and onboard clear CMOS button.
10. LED post code and onboard power ON/RESET switch.
11. PCI-E slot and M.2 latches and release button.

When comparing the 3 motherboards using AI, the one recommended was the B650E-F, then after explaining my use and needs i got recommended this TUF B650-PLUS wich i would go for as the price is closer to the lower end version, and has features that improve sound (Realtek 7.1) and power stability (Extreme Engine Digi+). So is that correct, can i go for it?

I also switched from 3X OC to 2X OC version of the MSI 4070 super for 30 euros less, AI says its not gonna change anything for my needs.

You didn't say if Lian Li LANCOOL 216 E-ATX-Gehäuse at 118 euros is better value than Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case at 89 euros

if your on a budget the the prime can easy handle a 7800X3D

But.. i do have the Tuf myself and it is a solid board for the money look well in a windowed system too.
yes ez choice there is only 17 euros difference between the TUF and the PRIME PLUS now. Only the PRIME B650M-K is at 50 euros less
 
I don’t know about in your zone. But the B650-plus and B650-plus WiFi cost the same in the uk and the only difference is one as WiFi6 included. You should look before dropping the hammer. I don’t use WiFi but the included intel Bluetooth6 is super useful
yeah i saw, for me its 20 euros more, at this point better value to go B650E-F, but i'm getting ethernet soon
 
really.... buy a 7600x get the prime motherboard, 1tb SSD and dump ever penny into a gpu

buy the cheapest option out there, probably a 5700x3d, 32gb ram, 1tb ssd and buy a 7900 GRE or XT

I went part picking with your 5700X3D + 7900 GRE cheaper option, (wich would mean i sell my monitor/motherboard/10400F/3060 8gb for 330 euros and keep my case, ssd and PSU potentially), and i go up to 1380 euros with the VG249QM1A.

My current build plan with 7800X3D + 4070 super, [wich means i sell my hole current build for 600 euros (500+144hz monitor)], goes up to 1930 euros with the VG249QM1A.

1380 - 330 = 1050 euros AM4 build with lesser components
1930 - 600 = 1330 euros AM5 build with better components

Seems a lot of money to shell out for 1080p, a 10th gen cpu is still pretty decent as well.

Looking at gamers nexus CS2 benchmarks even a 10600k should be able to put out over 260fps so if your struggling you probably just need a new gpu as the 3060 was always pretty lacklustre and is only 35% faster than an 8 year old GTX1070
I experienced bad frametime stability + choppy gameplay with bad 1% lows between 50 - 70 on low settings, i still dont know if it was all due to playing on wifi as my ethernet is still not installed but i doubt it.
So i decided to upgrade and the prices between the am4 build and the am5 build are too similar to refuse the am5 build with the 7800X3D at 400 euros, the 1% lows are not far from monitor refresh rate its gonna be perfect and i will have better AAA performance for the years to come. All that for 280 euros more than a am4 build after i sell my current build
