So Basically Tomorrow i will be ordering a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and B650 Tomahawk and 32gb 6000mhz CL30 Ram im coming from the specs linked in my signature how do i go about my windows install its been the same install since 2017 and when i upgrading ssd i just cloned it?

I would back everything up and uninstall any software specific to your motherboard (like utilities) and any RGB software.

Do you have anything like Windows Hello or Bitlocker enabled?

so what should i backup like my documents/photos/videos etc is there a way i can reinstall windows without having to reinstall my programs/games, and i can't have my games on my second drive as its a 500gb PCIE3 nvme for just videos etc my main drive is a 2tb 980 PRO?

Does that motherboard have bios flashback ? as that CPU is very unlikely to be supported out of the box, I would be more worried about that.

With regards to the change over, the only thing you really need to uninstall will be the chipset drivers, audio drivers......if you are using onboard sound, wifi drivers, just things like that, uninstall those first do the swap, boot up and then install the new drivers specific to that CPU and motherboard, that would be enough to get you by, AMD do recommend a fresh install of windows when upgrading an X3D CPU though.
